About Us

Portal Housing was set up as a charitable registered social landlord in 1998.  The number of homes owned by Portal has increased considerably since 1998 and it now has homes across Hampshire, Dorset, Wiltshire, Berkshire and the Isle of Wight. In 2007/08 Portal had fixed assets with a book cost of £30 million.

As part of the Radian Group, Portal partners Windsor, Swaythling and Drum Housing, and Turnstone Care and Support.  Portal does not employ staff but owns stock transferred from Swaythling and Windsor Housing.

Having homes owned by a charity means that the Radian Group can operate at its most tax efficient by receiving a proportion of an annual surplus created by Swaythling and Windsor and can spend it on acquiring and managing high quality homes and invest in our communities.
